The circle route to the two famous Tolmin peaks is slightly exposed and demanding in some parts. First, you go from the holiday house Stador past the Lom pasture and all the way to the Kuk pasture.
You continue along the wide macadam road towards a sharp turn with signs for pointing Žabiški Kuk. From now on, the path steeply ascends all the way to the peak. This is the most demanding part of the route.
After reaching the peak, we continue along the ridge towards Vogel. We are accompanied by a beautiful view of Julian Alps, Triglav and Upper Carniola, as well as the ski resort on Vogel. Continue towards the mountain hut on Razor where you can try their “jota” or “štrukelj” filled with locally produced cottage cheese.
We also recommend the homemade “ruševec”, which is a liquor made of young tips and green mountain pinecones – which you can notice on your way to Vogel. Finally, you go back along a wide macadam path that leads from the Razor pasture to the Stador pasture.
DURATION: 4 hours
DIFFICULTY: Somewhat demanding ascent, slightly exposed in some parts. Hiking equipment is mandatory. Before going, check the weather forecast and set off only in good weather, as orientation and exposed areas can make the route dangerous in bad weather.
